A call for Assistance - Winlink
“While many other digital messaging methods exist in Amateur Radio, Winlink is the most accepted one in emergency communication circles. Here are a few reasons. You may never expect to support a served agency, however, you never know when you might need an alternative communication method within your family and friends networks.”
- Dewayne Siddon KE4IDH Co-Coordinator, Hamilton County ACS
Since several people are trying to get the Southeast Tennessee Healthcare Net up and running on a disciplined and reliable basis, and since Dewayne seems to have some influence, anyone interested should apparently be conversant and capable of working with WINLINK.
I, Jim Ligman K4OHW (Old Hot Water), have attended ARES classes in WINLINK and found the interface, necessary equipment modifications and usage to be very esoteric and kludgy.
Does BCARC have a WINLINK expert who can help members learn, set up their equipment and generally assist those interested in learning this Dark Science?
Respectfully submitted,
Old Hot Water
